Rose City Kids is a ministry that started last spring which currently has 70 community kids from Welland attending its program. This ministry was started by John, Sonya, and Elise Wierenga, Hielke Janssens, and Jocelyn Langendoen.

I love that you posted this - really helps me "get it" in regards to what Rose City Kids does for and with the kids.
So here's my challenge to other bloggers, and especially to my family. Go to rosecitykids.com and click on the Donate button and send something. I just did and am embarassed to say it was painless. If you want to "store up your treasures in Heaven" add this deposit today, now. Say "yes" to what Joc' helped begin in Welland. Been to Tim Horton's lately or Starbucks (had to add that for the American contigent out here!)? Then you can do this.
Jocelyn, thank you for the opportunity to help - thank you for doing something so meaningful. I am honored to share even some of the same DNA as you!!

Dear John and Jocelyn, I just heard a short while ago that Jocelyn was not doing well. I had no idea you were going through such a terribly difficult time. I called your office and they kindly gave me this blog address so I could send a note to you.
I am so pleased to read that you both put your complete hope and trust in your Heavenly Father. That does not take away the pain but it does offer comfort. May the God of all peace and comfort sustain you all in the days and weeks ahead. We will keep you in our prayers.

Jocelyn: we raised $900 today for Rose City Kids at SDCH - we just wanted to let you know that we think what you started is awesome!
John and Jocelyn, it is so awesome to see how the strength and power of prayer works in our lives. What is happening now with Rose City Kids is so amazing. Things are falling into place now and these children finally have a place they can call their own. I know our girls love working along side the crew there and seeing the faces of these children each time. The stories they tell how Jesus is working in their lives now, and how happy they are to be around all of you. We praise God for that!!
