September 12, 10:00PM UPDATE
Jocelyn had a great first day after surgery. She is alert, talkative, and eating well (including a maple dip donut, smuggled in from Tim Horton’s). With help from the physical therapists, she managed a short walk down the hospital corridor and then sat up for a half-hour. Her left foot is quite weak, and we pray for greater strength.
Jocelyn tires very easily, and so she and John request that you please not come to the hospital
to visit. She is so appreciative of your care and reads your emails and blog comments and we all
feel incredibly supported by your love. When she comes home and recovers a bit more, there will be plenty of time for phone calls and visits.
Jocelyn wanted us to tell you that she knows that this surgery is just the next step in her journey. Her focus remains on recovering from this; in time, the other questions will all be sorted out.
In the meantime, God’s grace is more than sufficient for today, and all that lies ahead.
